Day One in Boston.
Good Friday started with a short 30 min run near our hotel. it was a very crisp but gorgeous morning which helped introduce me to the weather and beauty of the city.
After breakfast, we headed into Boylston street for an AT&T/ 261 Fearless event where we got to meet Kathrine for the first time.
The event was near the Boston Marathon Finish Line so of course we grabbed a picture, we then enjoyed lunch in the sunshine before heading to the marathon expo to pick up my race bib and goodie bag. The expo seemed extremely busy compared to the Australian equivalent and there was so much on offer…. quite a few purchases were made including the celebration jacket to be worn after the marathon in run. This took up the entire afternoon and we made it back to the hotel with barely enough time to get frocked up for the Charity Teams Party.
Charity Teams is the organisations that aligns, charities and runners with race bibs for the marathon. to kick off the weekend, they hosted a party for all the charity runners and we got to meet many people who had become friends in the online world in the flesh. The event was held in the Harvard Club of Boston which was a grand building that we both felt privileged to enjoy.
There were many tales of inspiration but two stood out. Dan who started the charity Journey Forward and the wonderful words of wisdom from Meb. The night was over way too quickly.
Day 2 to follow soon….
